When I first saw these red glass Salt & Pepper Shakers I could not take my eyes off them..The color of the glass is not orange red as in the pictures..I could not capture the dark ruby red color of the glass..but that is not all..inside the glass itself are lighter shades of what appears to be dollops of glass..I do not know another term to describe them. I left the last picture dark so you could see what I am referring to..The lids are a silvertone and screw on. Someone has engraved the numbers 1993 on the bottom of each shaker..The significence of these numbers remains a mystery. The glass itself has raised leaf designs on each shaker..They are truly beautiful. Measure 3" and are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. They are a heavy glass..Reminds of me of the type of glass you see in the vintage paperweights.
