Rare Longines LesGrandes Classiques automatic tonneau watch in stainless steel, with date windowand seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Longines branded crown, tan leather strap and buckle. Clean white dial with classic black Roman numerals and double minute track, and silver (colour) dagger hands. Originally water resistant to 30 metres. Watch in super condition, working well. Signs of use on strap and case. Date of manufacture unknown, but possibly from around 1995. Longines first made a tonneau watch in 1911 and were pioneers in making the shape fashionable in the 1920s – Humphrey Bogart wore a Longines tonneau, and so did Albert Einstein. The tonneau shape has a sophisticated style that suits both men and women. A classy enjoyable everyday watch just as it is, with a black strap this watch would make a discreet, elegant and distinctive evening dress watch for a man. Or alternatively a smart and individual statement as part of a woman's business outfit. Watch measures 40x32mm (including lugs, excluding crown). Longines model ref. L4.682.4
