Gorgeous old S. Kirk & Son sterling repousse footed bowl in exceptional condition! The classic Kirk berry bowl loaded with hand chased berries, leaves, stems and flowers beautifully detailed by Kirk silversmiths. This bowl rests on three solid sterling ball feet and has a wide variety of contemporary uses. Personally I have them in both baths to hold guest soaps. I also use one on my dresser for my cell phone, when I am using the phone I park the cord under the bowl. It keeps the cord from slipping away and hides it until I need it again. They also are perfect for dips, candies, olives, guacamole, cranberries, and you name it! This bowl is in exceptional condition and the repousse detailing is very crisp. Meaning that the fine line detailing to the leaves, stems, berries and flowers is still intact and not polish worn. The stippling to the backgrounds is still like new. T are no dings, dents or scratches to this lovely piece. It has a lovely time acquired darkened patina that I will leave intact. I prefer it to completely shiny as the detailing is accentuated. The bowl could of course be easily polished to remove the patina and I will leave that choice up to it's new owner. The bowl measures 5 3/4 inches across and stands 1 1/2 inches off of the table top at the rim. It is marked S. Kirk & Son, sterling and 431. It is an exceptional antique example of Samuel Kirk's design and craftsmanship And it would make a fantastic holiday gift for that special someone! Please see my other auctions now in progress!
