Iridescent Calcite Keokuk Geodeclosed geode dimensions: 2-3/8 in X 2-1/8 in X 1-5/8 inweight: 4.4 ozThis Keokuk geode is an outstanding example of my favorite type - the iridescent brown! The brown pseudocubic calcite crystals have ingested goethite making them iridescent, reflecting purple hues off of their crystals' faces. Later growths of clear rhombic calcite crystal buttons perch atop the brown adding to its crystal contrast and beauty.
