I have started selling the belongings of my late grandparents country estate, town house and holiday home.On offer in this listing is my grandmother's beautiful rolex gold mechanical watch.Our local jewellers said that this is a 1950 version and the the strap and the case are all gold. He also said that the strap weighs 10 grams and that the case weighs 5 gramms and that he would give us £150 as scrap. But as this watch was worn by my grandmother for as long as I can remember I would like this to go to a special new home and not go for scrap, it just seems too beautiful an object not to be used on a regular basis by someone else. The watch is running smoothly and I can hear it ticking away happily.
