GORGEOUS ROSE CHINTZ FOOTED TEACUP & SAUCER This gorgeous Cup & Saucer Set was made in Japan - saucer still has the original foil sticker marked HAND DECORATED - RIES - JAPAN (sticker is faded & torn on edges but you can read part of hand decorated , all of Ries & most of Japan . Not sure of exact vintage - probably 1950's or 60's. Cup is a beautiful rounded flare shape with 3 feet - both pieces have swirled flourishes embossed in the china around edges & saucer edge is scalloped. Pattern is an all-over pink rose chintz - pink roses on stems with leaves, tiny purple flowers on stems & purple flourishes with leafs - see pictures. Both pieces are trimmed with gold around rims & teacup also has gold across top of handle, down side of handle & outside of feet are completely covered with gold. Saucer measures almost 5 3/4" & teacup is 2 3/8" tall & 4" across at rim - set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or missing paint.
