This exquisitely shaped silver ladle incorporates a leaf design in the bowl, and the head and neck of a swan on the handle. It was produced By Gorham Silver for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York , reproducing a Chinese Tang Dynasty (618-906 A.D.) design from the Museum collection. The heavy silver ladle measures 13 ½" in length. The hallmarks are an E, followed by an anchor inside a shield, followed by a P. It is no longer available through the Museum.
