A set of 6 STERLING FORKS BY GORHAM, in the PALM pattern. This pattern was introduced by Gorham in 1871, and that date is included in the marks. This is a very interesting pattern, with the tiny leaves raised over a finely textured ground. The back of the handle is plain, save for the marks, but t is a small repeat of the pattern and the top of the back of the tines. I am not positive about their being used for fruit, but it seems as if that would be a good use. These forks are quite substantial, and are 5 7/8" long, with the initial D engraved on the front. They are in excellent condition Marks are the early Gorham hallmarks, Pat.71 STERLING. Buyer pays $6 S&H plus insurance. Please use Paypal, money order or check for payment. International buyer pays different fees, and must use Paypal only for payment.
