"Colonial Family" #24 by Grace Luse Ohio W.P.A. Art Program, Cleveland, Ohio A student of Edris Eckhardt, Grace Luse became Eckhardt's assistant in the W.P.A. ceramics project, supervising most of the glazing and firing. This rare faience figurine from the late 1930's is 9.25" tall, has a base of 4-5/8" x 4" and weighs 2 pounds, 5.2 ounces. See pictures for documentation of artist etc. The item is heavily crazed which is most noticable in the white and yellow colors. The back of the base has a couple of chips, the gentleman's coat tail has a minor chip at bottom center and the crazing on both the ladie's and gentleman's head (at very top) is most noticable.
