A trio of Graham Greene items: 1) An invitation card to celebrate the first publication of "Night and Day" on June 30, 1937 at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The card is INSCRIBED by GRAHAM GREENE ("I hope you'll happen to be in town for this. I'm literary editing. A kind of English "New Yorker." The 9-year-old Temple sued for libel and most accounts suggest that the suit was responsible for the magazine's quick demise. Years later, Temple privately admitted that Greene was more right than he knew. 4.25 x 5.25 inches matted and framed with photo of Greene to overall dimensions of 11.75 x 14.75 inches. 2) An exceptionally nice copy of NIGHT AND DAY, a handsome 1985 hardcover compilation of pieces from the magazine, featuring a preface by Greene. First Edition, 1985, Chatto & Windus, London. Appears in like new condition but for slight fading of d.j. spine. - hardcover is very fine. Dust jacket enclosed in protective mylar sleeve.
