Gray's Anatomy Descriptive and Surgical, by Henry Gray, F.R.S., the Drawings by H.V. Carter, M.D., Second American Edition, Philadelphia: Blanchard and Lea, 1862. Full tan calfskin leather, 816 pages, no ads. This book is in Good+ condition, with wear commensurate with age. The covers and spine show heavy wear, scuffing and discoloration to leather, edge wear and bumped/worn corners. Both the front and back covers are still firmly attached. There are 3 notations by the previous owner (an M.D. from Chicago,) one of the first front end page (shown,) one on the black page following that, and then one in pencil on the Preface to the First Edition page (shown.) Staining to both front and back end pages. Pages show sporadic foxing, and occasional light to (very infrequently) moderate stains. Majority of the pages show some light water staining to the outer edges, mostly along the bottom edge, but also along the top edge (evident in some of the interior page photos.) This book is a fresh estate find, the leather would benefit from a good oil/wax treatment. ___________________
