Remember 9-11-01. God Bless and Keep America Safe! GREAT 1856 SIGNED AND DATED YELLOWWARE STORAGE JAR #152 5 Day Auction--This is a fabulous 1856 maker signed and dated rare Yellowware or Yelloware, if you prefer, storage jar that is made in Philadelphia, PA. with the patent date of Jan. 15, 1856. The maker's name looks like Robert Artford but we are not positive and for that reason we have given you folks a real close up of the mark. Within the same back mark the name is repeated with a another name possibly and the patent date and Philadelphia. This storage jar measures 7" high x 5 ½" in diameter. It has a most unusual closure or top that is not familiar to us. The condition of this Yellowware jar is excellent for the glaze is very good and heavy and the color is still strong. The top w chips gather are free of them. T are two small chips on the bottom that are just slightly visible from the side. T are no cracks or age lines. This is a great piece to add to your Yellowware collection! NOTE: We will be listing a number of other antique Yellowware pieces so please check them out. 3 NOTES: GEORGIA RESIDENTS: 7% sales tax will be charged OR a copy of the tax form is needed.POSTAGE RATES are in the bright yellow print below. eBay has just started to use a new end of auction email that really wasn't thought through any too well. read more
