Great 1949 Martin D-18 Original Condition Item Description This is an extremely early 1949 Martin D-18. It is serial number 108487 and the very last number for 1948 was 108269 so it actually is almost a '48. It is in very good original condition. The finish is original. It does have a moderate amount of pick wear in the areas around the pickguard. T is also 1 repaired crack on the top that is not very noticeable which is just below the pickguard. It also has 2 very tight hairlines on the back. Otherwise, the guitar is repair free. The tuning machines are the original open backed ones. This guitar has had a neck set and it plays great. It has a very wide grained Spruce top that I am almost certain is Adirondack, and it sounds just great. It is a very impressive guitar. These early Martins are among the hottest items on the Vintage market. This one is a very nice example that a true player will absolutely love. It comes in a hardshell case that I would estimate to be from the 1970s. This is a true NO RESERVE auction. We will not stop it early for any circumstances. T are no tricks or gimmicks.
