This book, authored by Maxine A. Pinsky is in very good condition. For several years I was an Associate Toy Editor with Greenberg Publishing Company and reviewed and commented on many of the toy manuscripts submitted by authors for publishing. This book, published in 1988, is an engaging history of the evolution of the fascinating MARX toy industry. So much information was compiled by the authoress that to publish it properly required TWO dynamic volumes. Volume I covers MARX the story of Louis Marx, the rise of the factories, making a Marx toy, animal toys, black theme toys, comic characters, the Disney toy connection, elongated traffic and parade toys, guns, games large walking toys and much, much more. This comprehensive collector’s guide is fully illustrated with detailed descriptions of the toys – their production, availability, and desirability. As part of the business, I received a complimentary copy of each book I reviewed.
