Pricing & History
Greyhound Bus Travel Poster (1960s). Full-Bleed Poster (28" X 38") "New York." Artist Rod Ruth (1912-1987) was raised near Lake Michigan, which engrained in him a lifelong love of nature and wildlife. He began his career as an illustrator for Chicago based magazines (1940-1951). Ruth further honed his skills over the next several decades in the field of advertising and children's books, drawing the comic strip "The Toodles" from 1941-1958, and travel posters for Greyhound. The artist is perhaps best known for his work on the 1972 book Album of Dinosaurs. This original 1960s Greyhound travel poster features Ruth's New York City -- soaring, steely skyscrapers reflected in Central Park's glassy waters, and visitors lounging on the soft, inviting lawns.
