Greystoke ChimpanzeeLifelike Sculpture This is a very realistic baby chimpanzee sculpture made during production of the 1984 film "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes." (Approx. 6"x 6 1⁄2 x 5") The casting originated at the "Ape Shop" set up in England by special effects make-up artist Rick Baker. This shop was responsible for creating the most realistic ape suits of that era and this is one of the most realistic Chimp sculptures I have ever seen. I am not sure which of the talented crewmembers sculpted this chimpanzee, but it is definitely a credit to the realism achieved in that movie. (see the early chimpanzee puppet screentest below) Select Thumbnail For Larger Image This casting is made of sturdy white Hydrocal a professional grade plaster. T is very good detail on this casting, and it has a sturdy metal loop in the back for displaying on a wall.
