When this fine 65+ year old #8 cast iron Extra Deep Skillet or Chicken Pan left the Griswold factory, it was NOT encrusted with grease and carbon, was NOT rusty, did NOT reek of rancid oil, and allowing for routine kitchen use, now once again looks very much like it did so many decades ago! This auction is for a VERY GOOD Griswold #8 ( Iron Finish ) smooth bottom, Large Logo/EPU cast iron Chicken Pan, in VERY GOOD overall condition . Initially established in Erie, Pennsylvania around 1865 as the partnership of Selden and Griswold, and chartered in 1887 as the Griswold Manufacturing Company, Griswold produced some of the finest cast iron hollow ware ever produced in America, right up to their disappearance in 1957.
