Up for auction is an extremely nice Griswold #8 Cast Iron Tite-TopDutch Oven with Large Block EPU Logo and matching Griswold #8 Cast Iron Low Dome Fully Marked Lid... This is an unusual piece that I haven’t seen before. It has the number 8 stamped on both bail lips (see photos). Also, the inside of the cover is marked with an “x”. It measures 10 1/4” wide x 4” deep. Fully functional and ready for use. Both pieces have been painstakingly and thoroughly hand cleaned of all residue using only natural methods - no chemicals, no oven cleaner. The surfaces were then lightly coated with food grade Flaxseed Oil and gradually heated to produce a nonstick seasoned surface. Its inside surface lies perfectly flat - no upward crown or downward bow. The matching lid fits like a glove – no wobble. The hand crafted quality of this vintage Griswold set is unmatched when compared to poorly finished new cast iron cookware. This functional piece of history will provide a lifetime of fine cast iron cooking, a great addition to your hearth, or a nice showpiece for your collection. Penny auction to encourage all bidders.
