Grouping of Civil War era items. 1st item - Confederate States of America 500 note, Feb. 17th, 1864, signed White for Treasurer. 2nd item - Bank of Tennessee 50 cent note, Dec. 1st, 1861, signed M Parker for Pres. 3rd item - General McClellan CDV in uniform, three quarters length. 4th item - March 24th, 1864 Civil War letter discussing the presentation of a sword to a Colonel Potter from Captain Chambers. Retains original envelope. 5th item - Letter from Nashville dated 1883 from Captain Morton to Capt C. Jackson discussing Dr. J. B. Lindsley's writing a book on the (Civil) War and how Dr. Lindsley was requesting a "sketch" of their company and a complete roster. Captain Morton states they were not mentioned in the General Forest history and "hope we will get into this one." Note: The book referenced is J. B. Lindsley's, "Military Annals of Tennessee. Confederate. First Series Embracing a Review of Military Operations, with Regimental Histories and Memorial Roles", Nashville & Co., 1886. Condition: 1st item - Overall very good condition with slightly irregular lower edge. 2nd item - Wear and minor creases. 3rd item - two creases to image, toning. 4th item - fraying on edges, second page with tape. 5th item - overall very good condition.
