GRS Cast Steel RR Crossing Base Up for auction is a Perfect GRS Cast Iron or Steel Railroad Crossing Base. These rarely come up for auction. It measures 12 in x 12 in x 12 inches. I think GRS stands for General Railroad Supply. It will hold a 4 inch diameter pole. It has the junction box built onto the side so you can hook up your gate arm mechanism wiring if you desire. The date tag says 8-18-65. All bolts are brand new. This baby is perfect but it is very heavy. It weighs 79.4 lbs. I bead blasted all of the paint off and it is perfect. No cracks, nothing broken, I mean it is like new. I put 2 coats of primer on it an 1 light coat of aluminum paint. I cannot underestimate how nice this is. Don't let this one get by. I promise that you will be pleased with it. Click for a photo of my own Railroad Crossing. My base is aluminum and not nearly as nice as this one for sale. Ok - Now down to shipping. I will not charge 1 penny more than it actually costs to ship this. It weighs 79.4 pounds. I took it apart and weighed each half. One side weighs 42 lbs and the other weighs 37.4 lbs before boxing.
