I have split the set up into manageable lots and will be selling them progressively over the next few weeks. Description: A beautifully enameled pair of antique Chinese porcelain breakfast cups and saucers, decorated with the “birthday” pattern. The pattern varies, some pieces having a central long life (Shou) character surrounded by waves, some with a key fret (thunder pattern) border, but all have four gilded roundels containing Chinese characters. All pieces bearing the iron red 6 character Guangxu (1875 to 1908) Imperial reign mark. Size: Saucers: 145mm (5.8 inches) diameter approx. Cups: 95mm (3.8 inches) diameter approx. Dating: Guangxu (1875 to 1908) mark and period. Condition: No chips, no cracks and no restoration.Minor firing faults and expected signs of wear to gilding.
