These "bolts" or cortes are purchased by the women to make into a skirt or "morga". This particular corte is special in that it was made for an "important occasion", such as a wedding or communion. This was NOT made for every-day use. The women save their earnings for years to buy a piece of fabric like this for that Special Time!
