Originally Sold in 1939, shown , has the Original issued frame & handpainted background - Front Says: "ORIGINAL PAINTING from GULLIVER'S TRAVELS". "Gulliver's Travels" (1939) a Paramount Picture - Directed by Dave Fleischer, producer: Max Fleischer - Vocal Talent: Sam Parker (Gulliver), Pinto Colvig (Gabby), Jack Mercer (King Little, Prince David- speaking, King Bombo of Blefiscu, Sneak, Snoop, Snitch), Lanny Ross (Prince David- singing), Jessica Dragonette (Princess Glory- singing).. SIZE: est. 10" x 13" with Frame, cel image size is approx. 3-1/8" wide by 4" tall, vintage 1939 wood frame, has orig. painted title & background in chartreuse & teal, unknown to me what process they used but crackled paint stays in place, sorry for the glare on the glass. Production Notes: Max Fleischer' s first TechniColor Animated feature. Reportedly, the success of Walt Disney's 1937 film "Snow White" spurred the Fleischer Studios into producing this film at a budget of $700,000. Actor Sam Parker's movements were rotoscoped from live-action film to become the figure of Gulliver. The other characters were shown through animation. Some 12 tons of paint and 500,000 cellulois were used for the 115,700 composite scenes in the film. The world premiere took place in Miami, Florida on December 18, 1939.
