Seriously STUNNING vintage lavender jade pin. The pin is 40mm wide east to west by 26mm tall north to south. It is in EXCELLENT condition!! The back of the pin is stamped "GUMPS" and "STERLING". Of interest, the sterling stamp was done very close to the bottom edge of the pin back and whoever held the stamp or swung the hammer to create the imprint must have been having a shaky day...the word sterling is difficult to make out thru the mis-strike. OOPS! There is no problem with the "GUMPS" stamp...it is bold and easy to read. Getting the true, rich color of the natural lavender jade to show well through photographs was difficult at best. The best descriptive single word for the gorgeous color of this lavender jade would be "periwinkle". The saturation of color is fabulous and I have every reason to believe that the color within this wonderful pin is 100% natural (not enhanced or treated). There is a very small vein of yellow-amber that is just barely visible through the center portion of the pin. The floral carving is outstanding. The sterling silver pin backing secures the lavender jade in place using a 6-prong mounting. There are no issues with the mounting, pin, or pin closure.
