Gunnar Nylund stoneware, a set of two vases with handles Extremely nice vases from the famous Swedish artist Gunnar Nylund (1904 - 1997). The Swedish ceramist and artist Gunnar Nylund was originally educated as an architect, but worked as a designer in the Danish Bing and Grøndal until he founded the Saxbo workshop together with Natahlie Krebs. He moved to the Rörstrand porcelain factory from 1931 - to 1959 where he created much of his fantastic stoneware and is regarded as a leading artistic capacity. All Nylund stoneware is handcrafted individually. In 1959 Gunnar Nylund returns to Denmark, where he became artistic manager of Nymølle Keramikfabrik. Height 25 cm (10 inches) and 20.5 cm (8 inches).
