"HaChalutzim" Bezalel, Palestine 1925 Jewish Settlers Silhouettes M. Gur Aryeh “HaChalutzim” lit. “The Pioneers” is one of the landmarks of Jewish settlement art in Palestine. Printed in 1925, this book contains 20 Hebrew songs of the early Jewish settlers in Palestine “Chalutzim”. Next to each song is a print of a paper-cut silhouette prepared by Bezalel artist Meir Gur Aryeh. These silhouettes are probably Meir Gur Aryeh’s most known work. After the title page is a dedication page to Professor Boris Schatz, founder of the Bezalel School of arts. Songs collected by M.
