9 Sep 1990Hounslow - Halifax Ill of No.l38C Special Duties) Sqn.Newmarket, Stradishall & Tempsford, parachuting ammunition and equipment cannisters to Resistance rendezvous. Personally Signed by Sqn Ldr Thomas Hardy Hutton . Whilst Bombing the Skoda Works, Pilsen Czechoslavakia, at 41,000 on the night of 16th / 17th April 1943 , the aircraft was hit by flak, and the outer starboard engine burst into flames, The Pilot gave the order to Bale Out and Sqn Ldr Hutton landed near to Arlon in Belgium where he eventually made contact with the Belgian Resistance. They were eventually able to get him through to the British Embassy in Madrid , and on 25th July 1943 he finally arrived back in England . Details enclosed Flown in Concorde to Bordeaux 9 Sep 1990 .
