O Scale brass Hallmark Texas & Pacific T&P side door muley caboose, pristine, built in Korea by Ajin. A cow without horns was referred to as a "muley." Some old railroader long ago decided that a caboose without platforms was therefore a "muley." The term stuck. If there ever was an interesting caboose, this is it! The T&P built 58 of these cars in its Marshall, Texas shops in 1928. These were the long muley cars and were numbered 2400-2435 and a second group was numbered 2436-2457. Originally they ran on arch bar trucks but during later improvements they received Bettendorf trucks and side stiffeners that ran along the top and bottom of the windows. The cars were seen from far-west El Paso throughout Louisiana. This is the best detailed correct model side door caboose ever imported. From the ends with short platforms, ladders and brake wheels, long running boards to the side doors and side steps, this just is covered with neat texture and arrangements. This a great car with complete underbody detail with the modernized AB brake system and trucks built just for this. The subtle wood grain etching on sides, platforms, roof walks is about the best I've ever seen. The arch roof has the stubby cupola, smoke jack, correct platforms that really adds interest to trains.
