A BUILD A BEAR WIZARD’S OUTFIT (FITS THE 15” ANIMALS) A CUTE LITTLE WITCH RAG DOLL –VERY SOFT A SMALL TY BEANIE BABY BAT A LILAC WIZARD FINGER PUPPET Great for Halloween Party or a Challenge Area (See a Plan of howto set this up – would be brilliant for an NQT Observation/to simply impress your Head with). Children love puppets and prop – these can be used to aid attention and behaviour management or could be used in a theme or roleplay. I set up a challenge area in my classroom using blue, black and purple material and downloaded all the Challenge Area materials from Sparklebox. I placed a Build a Bear Factory Bear dressed in the wizard’s outfit, this witch and several little bats (only have one left) around several zipped purple folders. In these there were several challenges that the children in my Reception Class could complete – writing, number and construction challenges etc. Have a look at Sparklebox and if you are interested then most of the stuff you will need is on this listing. All the challenges meet the current Reception Profile points and I made up a small chart with the children’s names on – along the lines of “How many Challenges have a completed?” Getting the boys in a class to do stuff can be difficult but they simply loved it because it’s a bit spooky and scary AND the competition element meant that everyone read more
