Ready to ship) This is a great costume ... I mean a truly, awesome GREAT costume. Officially licensed product done for this year from the cult (kult) classic (klassic) film, "Killer Klowns From Outer Space". Done by Bump in the Night Productions (in our humble opinion at Arkham Antiques -- and we know our Halloween -- the very absolute BEST in the Halloween Mask, Prop & Costume world -- we've been doing this for over 25 years, and this company is great, they have so far passed the quality in design and production of our previous favorite--Distortions Unlimited--that DU can't even seen their tail lights!!!). You will be satisfied with this costume and ANYTHING from Bump!! Our highest recommendation at Arkham Antiques!!If you are familiar with the film, then we do not need to sell this costume to you. If not, we suggest you pick up a copy of this film on DVD and see what a great black horror film this is! This is a Shorty Klown costume, which is one of the key characters in the film (and a might bit nasty!). This costume would be ideal for Halloween, either Trick-or-Treating, Home Haunt, Haunted House, Haunted Circus, Insane Clown Asylum, and so forth. Also would make a stunning static prop, built with PVC pipe and joints, could very easily be animated! THE MASK: Very imposing and very eerie. Something about the combination of horror and a clown, two completely different concepts, that makes a marvelous monster. This mask is nothing short of brilliant. The quality of painting and detail is beyond the scope of 99% of high-end Halloween items (which we specialize in, so we know). Good heavens, the EYES are meticulously hand painted, featuring a pupil and iris, and THEN detailed alternating lines of black and gold eminating in from the edge of the iris. This detail can only be seen up close, but at a distance it gives the feeling and look of a real eye! Incredible!! Moreover, the teeth are painted, highlighted and then apparently dry brushed, giving them a real rotting look (as compared to most teeth on masks that are simply painted white or ivory or whatever). The shape of the hair is important to the look and design of the clowns, so to keep the shape, they have sculpted it in such a way w t is latex underneath the hair and then the hair is formed over this latex form and sprayed to keep stiff and keep the shape. Most would not give this attention to detail, as additional latex adds more cost, and so most would just shape the hair and try to keep it formed via a spray, well, the first time the mask is thrown in a box, that form is lost. As it is, with the spray and the form, when he has a bad hair day, it is easy to fix and reform. The overall white of the mask has a really lite (almost dry brushed) coat of purple paint, which gives more detail, looks more like a real skin of some sort, and best of all, gives it sort of an effervescent look (especially when lit with different colored spots). The collar is actual FELT!!! With red, cotton pom-poms. Yes, a minor touch, but most Halloween companies that send this stuff to China to be done, would have just used a standard material. The blue felt with the red pom poms gives it a sense of a real clown. When lit, it shows, as the satin costume is shiny, while the felt absorbs light, the whole experience is that of a honest to goodness clown! The mask itself is approximately 17" tall (from neckplate to top of bald head)--the green hair stands up at about 9", so 26" in all for the mask. The eye holes are small slits about an inch above clown's eyes. The visibility is mediocre, but enough to get around at night or in a haunted house.
