This is a BEAUTIFUL NEAR ALL ORIGINAL example of a HAMBURG AMERICAN German Wall Clock in WONDERFUL condition. German Wall clocks are of the highest quality. This one is signed Hamburg American on the movement as well as the original dial (see pictures)! Unusual for most of these fine German clocks are not signed. It was made in Germany circa the 1910s, and looks about the same as it did back then when it was new. The German clocks in our collection have not yet required any servicing and have kept perfect time for many, many years. All of our clocks have no wear at all! This comes from high quality thick brass plates and high quality steel pivots. The case looks great, with the beautiful original finish. It has a very well made, heavy duty 8-day time and strike movement, which chimes the half hour and counts the hours on a large gong with a traditional German Wall Clock sound. (Picture enclosed). The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added w needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! With the purchase of this clock for an additional $ 2.2 5 we will include an oiler kit with a professional oiler loaded with enough oil to oil approximately 50 clocks with easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! This clock was made very well as well as probably the former owner took pride in keeping it in good condition. This clock is very beautiful. It is all original. It measures 25 ½ inches high, 11 ¼ inches wide, and 7 inches deep. Has its original front heavy bevel glass and two small round side glasses in which to view the wide/happy pendulum swing and the movement working. The clock has a nice quiet way it ticks also. The signed dial is original is in superior condition with a nice patina, very crisp. the hands are original also. The swing of the original fancy pendulum is big, making it look happy at its work. The back of the clock is perfect, even has its original hook which holds on the wall. It has its original door catch which works perfectly. Comes complete with a heavy duty key to wind it with. If you are looking for a clock that was very well made, runs great, is signed, and looks great - THIS IS IT! These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working perfectly after nearly a hundred years! And the truly amazing thing it is ready for the next 100 years, and will probably run indefinitely with tender loving care. I wonder if this clock will have any wear after the next 100 years... Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment. Each one has a unique quality, as well as appreciating in value and beauty with age.
