"The Day of Trouble Near, the Tokens of it, and a Due Preparation for it...and an appendix, giving some account of the Earthquake". by Nathaniel Gookin. Exeter, NH: Samuel Winslow, 1796 Contemporary calf binding.The last few pages of the book, which make up most of the appendix, are quite loose but still holding together "by a thread," literally. These pages discuss the earthquake in some detail and accounts of some thunderstorms in the area during that same period.The book is basically Gookin's sermons from the time of the earthquake, and how the event led to greater faith in the community.I've got another earthquake-related item listed currently: a 1792 magazine with an account of New England earthquakes up to that time.Thanks for looking.
