Hello! My name is Paul Williams (Geppetto22) and this hand-carved, one-of-a-kind basswood Santa is looking for a good home. He is the third Santa I have carved for the 2008 Holiday season. Each of my Santas is individually sketched and then carved from a basswood block , never from a pre-carved blank or roughout. This Santa looks as if he is about to start some Holiday decorating. He holds a leather string of gold Christmas bells wrapped with a bit of greenery. He wears a green robe trimmed with some Holly leaves and yellow berries. The shaggy underskirting in the front of his open robe gives the impression and shape of a Christmas tree. He wears a matching set of candy apple red mittiens and a stocking cap of with white stars. He is painted with acrylic paints and lightly sprayed with an acrylic matte protective coating....I gave him a light "dry brushing" to make all the knife and gouge marks stand out which really brings out the unique nature of a woodcarving. He stands a little more than 10 inches tall . He is permanently marked PAUL WILLIAMS 2008 âe" 3 on his base. The third carving in my 2008 Holiday series, he is offered with no reserve and I hope that a discriminating collector will add him to their Holiday decorating tradition.
