HAND-CRAFTED PEAVEY ROTOR EXP (EXPLORER) IN RED SPARKLE w/FLOYD ROSE This has to be one of the very best Explorer type guitars available anywhere. Unless you have stupid cash to pay for a Hamer Standard or maybe a Gibson, this should be the 1st on your list. Trust me, I've been playing nearly 30 years & have played most guitars. Out-of-the-box, this is one of the very best sounding guitars I've ever played. The Peavey (stamped) Floyd Rose is of a standard you only expect from Gotoh/Floyd Rose & stays in perfect tune no matter how much you hammer it (the base plate is thick as fk - see pics). This tremolo/bridge unit is one of the best & most stable I've played (& I always recommend a Gotoh so that's some BIG words for me). I intended to replace the pickups when I bought this but realised I really didn't need to. They sound every bit as good as the Seymour Duncans I had on my Jackson & are equally as good as the EMG-HZs I normally prefer. Harmonics are a sinch & Peavey's Extra-Hot humbuckers sound fantastic. Finish is in a high-gloss candy apple red sparkle & the guitar looks stunning with the Vandenburg cuts & binding. Weight is heavy but feels 'right' for this type of guitar.This guitar will batter anything in the £400-£500 price range & has to be heard to be believed - trust me, you WILL NOT wanna swap the pickups. Body has a few small scratches (see 'Points to mention' below) & there are 2 dings on the back of the neck - the guitar was like this when I bought it & doesn't detract from the fact that it's an awesome looker & player. Priced to start at a fantastic £140.00 (I recently sold one of these for £200.00 but it had no marks) - Can't go less as I'll be losing money - this guitar is worth every penny - my fave guitar til I discovered Dean MLs. I've played one of these more than any other guitar in the last year - You just don't wanna put it down. RETAIL= £400.00-£500.00 (GBP). Points to mention: The finish is not perfect (though it is very good). There are a couple of scratches on the body (pictured) that are not quite dings but have penetrated the laquer slightly & there are 3 small dings on the back of the neck (pictured). There are a few light swirls/scratches on the body but they're hardly noticeable & are not deep.
