“Large Still Life with Pedestal Table” 1931 by PABLO PICASSO 1881 - 1973 Thispainting is the work of renown Spanish artist and sculptor, Pablo Picasso, who was one of the most recognized figures in 20th-century art, and is best known for co-founding the Cubist movement , along with Georges Braque. Picasso demonstrated uncanny artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner through his childhood and adolescence. However; during the first decade of the twentieth century his style drastically changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. Picasso’s creativity manifested itself in numerous mediums; including painting, sculpture, drawing, and architecture. His revolutionary artistic accomplishments brought him international fame and immense fortunes throughout his life, making him the best-known figure in twentieth century art. “Picasso's painting entitled "Large Still Life with Pedestal Table”; and the art print subject for this puzzle, was painted in 1931. It is an excellent example of his unique and avant garde artistic painting style. The original oil painting is now a part of the art collection on display at the Picasso Museum in Paris, France. HEIRLOOM PUZZLE ********************************* This "one of a kind" puzzle measures 7 " x 10 -3 /4 " when assembled; and consists of 3 45 interlocking pieces . Please do not confuse this puzzle with the cheap die cut cardboard types that are produced by the thousands, or those that are laser or water jet cut. This is a one-of-a-kind puzzle that has been carefully hand cut, using premium quality (5 ply) 6mm. (1/4") imported Baltic Birch plywood and the highest quality Swiss made .007" blades available, in an interlocking "knobby" style cutting pattern. Each puzzle piece is different, and a variety of cutting techniques and tricks are utilized, to add a bit more challenge to the puzzle’s assembly process . The art print has been permanently bonded to the plywood base, using a top quality professional dry mounting press and premium grade (non acetic) adhesive tissue. It is my belief that this process for permanently bonding the art print to the wood base, is far superior to that of using aerosol can type spray, or brushed on, adhesives. After the puzzle was cut; the backside and perimeter edges were carefully finished sanded, stained, and finished with a Tung oil and varnish finish, that was then gently hand buffed to a very smooth, satiny luster. The puzzle was then disassembled and carefully packaged, in a stained & finished wooden box that has a hinged lid, and retainer clasp, that insures safe keeping for many years, and perhaps, even for generations to come. A signed informational label is affixed to the bottom of the box. The tight interlocking pieces of this puzzle allow it to be easily picked up and casually handled after assembly, without pieces coming loose or falling out. Also included with this puzzle is a historical information sheet that provides a small picture of the puzzle, and a bit of information about the artist, and his painting. All of the photos shown; are the actual puzzle and its finished wooden box. If you have never experienced putting together a one-of-a-kind Heirloom puzzle; rest assured that in doing so; you will, very likely; lose all interest in cheap, mass produced, die cut, cardboard puzzles. The superior appearance, quality, durability, and “feel” of the wooden puzzle pieces, is obvious. HOW GOOD IS A HEIRLOOM PUZZLE?
