This is a set of 2 spinning tops purchased from a shop in Yokosuka japan about 20 years ago by a Navy seaman. You'll notice that these tops have hard metal spin points and will do damage to hardwood floors, as the seaman found out while trying them out on the floor of the ship he was on. These tops have been used and show scuffing and some dents. One top looks to be a female character the other is a male character. The designs carved and painted on the tops are the same as my other 3 top set.In Japan, koma asobi (top spinning) is a simple game that has been enjoyed by children and adults since as early as the 10th century. It is especially popular during the New Year holidays. These are a part of a collection of spining tops, please see my other spinning top listings! I do combine shipping when able.
