19th Century Hand Painted D&C ( R. Delinieres) Limoges Occupational Shaving MugFloral w Monogram in Shield Occupational Shaving Mug dates to 1870'sGorgeous hand painted unique florals and 3 initial monogram in shield on each side of this blue multi tonal background Victorian shaving mug. It is marked with an early D&C mark in underglaze green that dates this piece to the early 1870's. Each floral spray is unique on both sides. One features large cabbage roses and bleeding heart, the other side roses in shades of pink, white and old fashioned geranium. In the center between the florals is a white shield with gold outline in the initials D V J. The D is in gold, the V in red and J in blue. Beautifully hand painted throughout.No damage but there is gold wear primarily to the top rim and handle. Measures 3 1/2 inches across at top and close to 4 inches in height.Please view all the photos to appreciate this fine Victorian period shaving mug!I have many other porcelains listed now- be sure to take a look.
