Handcoloured Nuremberg chronicle or chronicle of the world Hartmann Schedel Small edition of 1496 A.D. in German DESCRIPTION: It's not a facsimile, reproduction or whatever. The leaf is original and about 510 years old! The Nuremberg Chronicle (Liber Chronicarum), written by the Nuremberg physician and humanist Hartmann Schedel, is one of the most important fifteenth-century German prints. Featuring over 1000 woodcuts made after the woodcuts of the Nuremberg Chronicle of 1493. This German edition of 1496 was printed in Augsburg by Johann Schönsperger. This is one leaf, from the German edition, containing 5 fine coloured woodcuts and 6 Initials, and is consistently rubricated. Size of leaf: 28 x 19,8 cm This is a rare opportunity to own original, rare leaves from this fascinating work.
