Exceptional 'Birds in Flight' pattern painted on the exterior, depicting birds, trees and landscape on a 'chipped' finish glass shade in the domical shape. The exterior is painted in shades of green, red-brown, and ochre. The interior is painted with an iridescent amber-gold finish, adding a rich luminous glow to the lamp. The shade is signed 'Handel 6953', also marked 'Handel' on the ring. Base is bronzed metal, inverted floriform stem raised on a circular support and six shaped bracket feet. Excellent condition, one small internal manufacturing bubble on the interior. Very difficult to see on the exterior and does not detract from the beauty of the shade. An extremely nice example of this design.
