Handmade Antique Santa On Sled Candy Container Japan Handmade Antique Santa On Sled Candy Container Japan Fabulous early antique Christmas Santa riding sled candy container. Sweet little composition face santa; his clothes look like a cross between chnille and felt. He wears a little black belt and sports a cotton beard. His sled slides open to reveal a compartment for candy. Works like a box of matches (though I hardly think Santa was promoting smoking:) Sled is made of textured cardboard and reads Made in Japan on the bottom. Measures 3 1/2" long and 1 1/4" wide. Many photos, some with flash and others without to see close detail. I'm sure that the colors were brighter at one time but I'm guessing these are from the late 30's and have been around for awhile.
