Handpainted Pickard 10 1/2" Cake Tray / Handled Plate, Artist Sgn Rean KlipphahnDescriptionBeautiful hand painted Pickard cake plate or tray, decorated with encrusted AOG (all over gold) and a black band with floral sprays. The plate (10 1/2" with handles) is signed "Rean", which was a mark used by Pickard artist Maxwell Rean Klipphahn, one of Pickard's top artists. The back of the plate is marked with a gold Pickard shield & lion, used 1925-1930. A small bowl with this decoration by the same artist is shown on page 225 of Alan B. Reed's "Pickard China", Collector Books 1995.Condition is excellent, no chips or cracks, no repairs, and no damage to the decoration.
