This auction is for a nice antique Pickard handpainted and artist signed porcelain cider pitcher. This fine piece was purchased from a prominent estate here in Maryland. This pitcher started life in France, probably in Limoges. The artist J.Nessy of Pickard decorated this fine porcelain pitcher with lovely handpainted depictions of luscious fruit in a nature setting;accenting them with rich gilding,(see pictures). This is a slightly low profile "squatty" type pitcher;having a generous "belly" area. I'm told that this is a cider or lemonade pitcher. It measures 6" tall to the tip of the spout, with a oval-esque rim dimension of 4 1/2" x 6" ,an overall length of approx. 9 1/4",(handle to just beyond the spout),and a base diameter of 5". It is signed by the artist J. Nessy to the left of the handle and Pickard on the bottom,(see pics). It is in good condition, but does have a little more than average gold wear toward the lower front mostly,(see pics)...from use,not abuse with NO chips or cracks! Please check my other auctions,as I will be listing more nice antiques and collectibles. This is a NO reserve auction,so please bid away! Buyer is to pay within 3 days of the end of this auction. Please contact me first if you have a low feedback count, before bidding. I'm happy to combine shipping costs on multi purchases to save you money. U.S.
