Handsome Victorian Waxed Pine Blanket Chest Box / Table Search This handsome early Victorian blanket box has a lovely rich golden glow to the waxed pine. The chest has a bracket shaped plinth to the base and early hand forged spear type hinges that are still in excellent functioning order. These features date the box to the early Victorian era circa 1840 and this accounts for the good colour to the piece. The chest has a candlebox fitted to the interior and good storage space. The box is in very good order and is a practical size for a blanket chest or toy box or it would make an admirable coffee table. The measurements are 18" high 38" long by 22" deep.
