Written by a borarding school teacher from Massachusetts in 1876, this journal is a beautiful piece of history right down to the elegant (yet easy-to-read) handwriting style. I'm unsure of her name but she repeatedly refers to a friend named Mary. She also talks about her school lessons, her students, shopping, visits with friends, the weather, trips to visit family, and letters in the mail. She also, in specific detail, tells about the parties and events she sees when she visits Plymouth for the Centennial Celebration. In beautiful conditon, with elegant and easy to read script (the ink is still bright and true, very little if any fading) this journal is a gem. Most days are written in, with each entry varying in length from 1/2 to the whole page.If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask -- !
