On offer is a wonderful, embossed gravy boat with attached underplate by Hutschenreuther china. This piece is from the Apart pattern and was designed by Hans Achtziger in about 1957. The pattern was active from 1958 - 1966 and the mark on the bottom would indicate that this particular piece was produced no later than 1964. Hans was highly regarded as a sculpture and a member of the German Werkbund which was an association of arhitects, designers and industrialists. The piece measures 6 1/2" across at widest point and approximately 3 1/8" high. It is in pristine condition without any cracks or chips. The mark on the bottom reads: Hutschenreuther Selb (stamp with lion) Bavaria Germany Apart Another beautiful mid century modern piece with fabulous lines and a unique look.
