Hans Christian Andersen measures approximately 7 1/2" in height. He is a cloth doll with a composition head and metal shoes that are attached to thin wire legs. His clothing is sewn largely from felt, and he carries a cranberry colored carpet bag and a green plaid umbrella. His face is somewhat crudely fashioned and painted very simply. His clothing is nicely detailed though his vest is brown spotted, possibly transfer from his brown felt coat. Please note the brown spotting to his left hand which may have been caused by the wire armature beneath. His top hat is torn along its lower left brim,while an adornment is missing from his lapel, leaving a bit of glue residue. Hans Christian Andersen is an interesting dollhouse sized doll and resembles in some ways the BAPS and Tiny Town dolls. His manufacturer remains a mystery to me. I am assuming that he is Hans Christian Andersen as I was informed by a knowledgeable doll collector that he represents that personality. I cannot guarantee that though.
