Hapshash The Who I Can See For Miles Poster Artist: Hapshash and the Coloured Coat silkscreen Edition of 250signed by Nigel Waymouth 22.5 x 35 inches The Hapshash posters were printed in extremely small runs, then pasted all over town, leaving few examples remaining. The majority of these are in the hands of museums and a few astute collectors. In the late 1990's a new exhibition poster and six of the original posters were released as fine art silkscreens by the San Francisco Art Lab under the supervision of Michael and Nigel. Utilizing the finest inks and papers and produced in strictly limited, signed and numbered editions of 250, these timeless images were brought to life as never before. We were fortunate to be able to acquire the last remaining pieces from these editions and offer them for sale here.This was a promotional poster for the release of The Who's I Can See For Miles as a single on Track Records. The central image shows the group dressed in fanciful clothes, at a high vantage point, invoking magical powers.The screen printing technique used in this print is remarkable for its use of a double split fountain: one gradates from red to yellow, while another goes from gold to silver.
