Harbour Lights Award Winning Collectible Lighthouses Cape Neddick (Nubble), Maine H L141 in MINT condition with Harbour Lights packaging and the original Certificate of Authenticity! You are bidding on the retired Cape Neddick (Nubble), Maine Lighthouse (code HL141). This piece is numbered 5020 and was limited to an edition of 5500 in total. It measures 6" tall and is meticulously crafted to the Harbour Lights standard. It was announced on January 1, 1994 and was retired on March 17, 1995. This piece has been signed and dated by Bill Younger. I purchased this item around 1997 from another collector and I do not know the complete history on the piece. Please note that the box is an original Harbour Lights box, but is not the original to this piece. The box has the Cape Neddick badging, but the number is hand printed as 4333 (as opposed to the pieces flag number 5020). This item has not been displayed in the time that I have owned it. The lighthouse also known as Nubble Light, is Maine's southernmost lighthouse, located off Cape Neddick, on York Beach. Cape Neddick got its nickname, Nubble, from the rocky island on which it sits. In 1807 requests were made for a lighthouse at York Beach. In 1837 a construction proposal was rejected stating that t were already three lights in the area, and an additional beacon was not necessary. read more
