we have a wonderful and VERY RARE 17" composition Jane Withers, made in 1937 by the Madame Alexander Company. This doll's entire head and face have been professionally resprayed by airbrush, and all facial paint is professionally repainted, returning her back to her original glory. Jane has her original teeth. Her cheeks have been brought back to their original high color. Jane's body and extremities have also been professionally resprayed, first sealing any crazing and keeping the crazing from any future threats. Jane's wig is wonderful and is original, being of reddish-brown mohair. Her wig still has the 2 original golden hairbars attached. Her eyes are clear and brown, having been replaced. These Jane Withers dolls were only marked with a size "17" at back torso. Jane's outfit is not original, but is a factory dress from the period, being of a red & white check cotton material, with a white eyelet collar and full sleeves with elastic edging. The dress is completely free of any problems, including no fading, tears or holes. Dress closes in back with 2 pearl buttons. The red bow is replaced. Jane has a vintage hand-made onesie and vintage factory-made petticoat, both in fine shape, with no holes, or stains. Jane is wearing vintage rollerskates and socks that are also in good condition.
