This is a Harmony Kingdom piece called "Father Knows Best" Treasure Jests carved by Peter Calvesbert for Harmony Kingdom. A tribute to the Tasmanian Tiger or Thylacine . Release Date October 22, 2003- with a Fixed Edition of 2,500 .Retail price was $55.00 USD . This piece has never been displayed and has its original box. Crafted in crushed marble and resin with the look and feel of antique ivory, every piece is entirely hand-made in the time-honored tradition of cottage industry manufacturing. Secrets about this piece from the Harmony Kingdom website: The Tasmanian Tiger, or Thylacine, was once found throughout the Australian continent, but later confined to just Tasmania. Settlers, loss of habitat, bounty hunters and disease finally brought about the extinction of this animal, with the last known specimen dying in the Hobart Zoo in 1936. Despite a lack of proof, many people believe that they still exist in the dense Tasmanian forests. The date of death of the last known Tiger, Sept. 7, 1936, is inscribed between the forelegs of the adult. "Benjamin" was the name given to the last Thylacine.
